Sasha Allen can be described as the only openly transgender performer to have made it through all the Battle Rounds of The Voice Live Shows. That has been true over the course of 21 seasons. The Newtown team, Jim and Sasha Allen, have now advanced to the Top 8 within the 21-year history of The Voice Live Shows! Sasha has announced that he's transgender and was featured in their Blind Auditions package. He told Parade.com that it took a lot of thought to come up with the idea. Sasha transitioned in highschool and said that it was difficult to share such an intimate side of him before so many individuals. "But the last week of fan week], seeing people's support and responses and the way it affected those around you really demonstrated that it was worth it and it was the right move, regardless of the fact that it was a hard one to make." "'Have you ever Seen the Rain' is an album that's been in the list of songs that we'd wanted to feature on The Voice for quite a many years," Sasha told Parade.com. "We used to play it before The Voice was even a reality show in our lives. It was a joy when we got it. The track was something we were familiar with and had some ideas to arrange. I was astonished by to see how well the fans struck the nail on their head."
